October update..
I know... no real good excuse again, other than staying home with five kids and homeschooling them.. so, here's a quick update..
*Since we last talked Thomas has done a few more beautiful art pieces, I'll post them another time.. he's also very much into King Arthur and the Roundtable.. he loves knights.. he's moving along quickly in his reading and math...
*Josiah is still going.. and going.. and going..oh, and he's reading his first book this week, he's very excited!
*Jeremiah is busy chasing his brothers.. he loves playing with them and only them..unless he has a boo boo, then mom is okay..
*Grace is loving that her sister is playing with her more and more... she is a great big sister!
*Faith is growing by leaps and bounds.. as of this post she has teeth # 5 and 6 coming in and # 7 and 8 swollen and ready to go!! She is almost crawling, but now quite.. so therefore she is in the ' I want to move but can't so I'm gonna scream' phase.. you all remember that one right??
* Tom is doing great! He is currently teaching about the flood in his OT class so you can imagine how pumped he is each day!! The students are eating it all up and are asking great questions while he lectures.. Tom is also now teaching our youth at our church on Sunday mornings and will be starting to plan many amazing things for them to do each month.
*and me.. well, you know.. same old thing.. I do LOVE my Bible study on Wednesday mornings and the ladies in my small group are so faithful and are challenging me each week.. I thank God for all of them! (Love you girls!) I still adore being at home with my kids and homeschooling couldn't be better... I absolutely LOVE it and am so glad God has given me this opportunity..
Hope you are all doing well!! God Bless your day!!

Spotlight on Thomas..
So we are going to Elmbrook Church (the church where Stuart and Jill Briscoe lead) on Wednesdays. Thomas takes part in a homeschool electives program all morning (worship, writing, PE, and art classes), while I get to study the book of Hebrews in their Women's Bible Study called InWord. The other four have the opportunity to learn about Jesus in their kids program. They all love it!! Well, Thomas is having a blast in his art class- I thought I'd share his two latest pieces. One is a self-portrait. They were also studying some artists like Monet, Van Gogh, and Warhol...hence the colorful background behind his portrait. The second is a sculpture he did last week. It is a robot made from various nuts, bolts, washers, etc. I think they are both adorable, but I'm his mom, so I'm supposed to think that! Great job Thomas! We are so proud of you!

Happy Birthday Josiah!!
( a little blast from the past... Josiah around 8 or 9 months...)
Well... exactly 5 years ago this little (big!) man came into our lives at a whopping 10 pounds!! Hard to believe he stayed 39 pounds for like two years!! But he finally cracked 41 pounds a few months ago and is well on his way to 42! LOL!
Anyway, Josiah is doing great and is loving school at home but also loves his time on the soccer field. (Okay, I'm gonna brag just for a minute-which I don't do very often- but this kid is good! It's not so much his scoring or ability to score, but what boggles my mind is his defense! His position between the net and the man with the ball- and his zig zagging defense! It took me years to get that, right Coach? Ha!) Anyway, God has blessed him, and we are working on keeping him humble and appreciative to God for his talents.
Other than soccer, he loves to go and go and go and go.. did I say go? He's like the energizer bunny sometimes. But he is such a giver and an unbelievable servant leader to his brothers and sisters. He loves to make his baby sister laugh and laugh and she loves to bop him on the head!
We love you Josiah and thank God for you and your energy each and every day! God Bless you Son!

Okay, no more comments about how many kids I have...

Woman dies at 99, leaves behind 1,400 descendents
One of Jerusalemite Rachel Krishevsky's grandchildren says with pride, 'Grandma knew all of her descendents'
Nissan Shtrauchler
The commandment to "be fruitful and multiply" the Krishevsky family follows quite closely. Last Saturday, the great grandmother, Rachel Krishevsky passed away at the age of 99, leaving behind no less than 1,400 children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.
Krishevsky got married to her cousin, Yitzhak, just before turning 19. The couple brought seven sons and four daughters into the world. In accordance with haredi custom, Krishevsky brought up her children to see children as a great joy. Her children subsequently adopted her outlook and produced 150 children of their own.
These 150 children continued the commitment to be fruitful and multiply and themselves had no less than 1,000 children. From here, the lineage continued even further, and Rachel Krishevsky was blessed with a few hundred great-great-grandchildren.
Rachel Krishevsky died on Saturday surrounded by loving descendents.
Due to their great numbers, the family is not quite clear on precisely how many descendents there are. "The estimate in the family is that we are about 1,400 people since almost all of those from the family line were blessed with many children," said one of the grandchildren Wednesday.
Though she lived a full and long life, the family is saddened by Rachel's passing. Krishevsky lived nearly her whole live next to Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda open-air market.
"Grandma was a God-fearing woman her whole life, and her door was always open to the homeless and poor near the market who were looking for a place to eat," added the grandchild.
"She knew the entire book of Psalms by heart, and participated in all the family events, happy and sad, up until two years ago. She knew all of her descendents. We are sad about her death, but proud of what she achieved in her life and her righteousness and compassion."
Though Krishevsky certainly produced many offspring, she did was not a record-breaker. In the haredi sector, there are two well-known cases of living people having great-great-great-grandchildren. One such case is in a Hassidic family living in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Mea Shearim. Another such family is that of Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, the leader of the Lithuanian branch of haredi Judaism. A few months ago, his great-great-grandson had his first child.

Thomas and the Royals...
Thomas was asked to be a Junior Attendant this year with the Homecoming Court. He really didn't know what it was but he was game. Little did he know he would be a part of the parade, half-time of the football game, and be part of the homecoming coronation...with a GIRL! Micaiah was the fine young lady he was escorting and they did a great job!! Enjoy the photos!

I'm a caterpillar killer..
Okay, so first time with the caterpillar in the bug catcher.. not so successful. It's okay, I know there will be other times. Still, it saddens me.
Oh well, we did get to go apple picking though a week ago! The Weyhrichs were kind enough to invite us along to their annual trip to 'R' Apples to pick some GREAT apples! I've already made an apple pie. So what you say? Well, this is no ordinary apple pie- this my friends is my Great Grandmother's recipe. I know this sounds silly, but when I was rolling out the dough ( I know! I made it from scratch and everything!) I actually was picturing when I was a little girl sitting at my Grandmother's table with her and my Great Grandmother making apple sauce, apple pie, and those little Polish noodle things. ( I have no idea, I just know they made them.) Anyway, it was much fun, and even my husband, the apple pie hater, liked it! So here are some pictures.. enjoy!!
